Actually, it did. When I went to design school, I learned everything manually – from cut and paste with a scalpel and rubber cement, to creating typography with French curves; from gauche paint for colour swatches, to acetate overlays for CMYK spot printing. Whenever I questioned the amount of manual design being taught over digital, the answer was always “It’s possible that not every workplace will have a computer.”
